This cookie policy explains how STEP BALANCE, S.L. ("Step Balance", "we") uses cookies and similar technologies on stepbalance.com, and how you can accept, reject or withdraw your consent.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit it. They let the site remember information about your visit, for example your language or whether you have accepted cookies. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage and session storage or tracking pixels, work in a comparable way. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.
2. Types of cookies we use
- Necessary: needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choices. They do not require your consent.
- Analytics: help us understand how visitors use the site so that we can improve it. Used only with your consent.
- Marketing: measure the results of our ads on Google and Meta (Facebook, Instagram) and help show relevant ads. Used only with your consent.
We do not currently use separate preference cookies; the cookie that remembers your country and language is treated as necessary. We do not use cookies to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Who uses the cookies
Own cookies are managed by us through our store platform, Shopify, which acts on our behalf. Third-party cookies are managed by another company that also processes the data for its own purposes. This applies to Google and Meta, even when their cookies are stored under the stepbalance.com domain, and to some Shopify analytics and marketing cookies. These third parties are:
- Shopify International Limited (Ireland): store platform and statistics. Shopify cookie policy
- Google Ireland Limited (Ireland), with Google LLC (USA): Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Merchant Center. How Google uses cookies
- Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Ireland), with Meta Platforms, Inc. (USA): Meta Pixel for Facebook and Instagram ads. Meta cookie policy

Other services that load content
Our Instagram gallery runs on the Instafeed app and loads images and videos from Instagram's servers (Meta). The site menu uses the Qikify app. In our check these services did not set cookies, but your browser connects to their servers, which therefore receive your IP address and technical browser data.
5. How to accept, reject or withdraw consent
When you first visit stepbalance.com from the EU, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject all optional cookies or choose by category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and you can keep using the site normally either way. Analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you accept them.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
We store your choice for 12 months. After that, or if we start using new types of cookies, we will ask you again.
If you withdraw consent after accepting, cookies already stored in your browser may remain until they expire. You can delete them in your browser settings (section 6). Google and Meta also offer their own settings: My Ad Center (Google) and Ad preferences (Meta).
If you reject analytics or marketing cookies, Google tags may still send limited signals without cookies (Google Consent Mode), for example that a page was viewed, without storing or reading cookies on your device.
6. Browser settings
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block all cookies, some parts of the site may not work. Instructions:
7. International data transfers
Google and Meta may transfer data collected through their cookies to the United States. Both companies are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has recognised an adequate level of protection; where it does not apply, they use the Commission's standard contractual clauses. Shopify may process data in Canada, which has an EU adequacy decision, and through service providers in the United States and other countries under standard contractual clauses or other safeguards permitted by the GDPR.
8. Retention
The table shows how long each cookie lasts. Google Analytics keeps event data for the period set in our account, which is no longer than 14 months. Data that Google and Meta collect for their own purposes is kept according to their privacy policies.
9. More information and your rights
For more on how we process personal data, your rights (access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability) and your right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (the Spanish AEPD, www.aepd.es, or the authority in your country), see our Privacy policy.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever we add, remove or change cookies. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change requires new consent, the cookie banner will appear again.
