A good recovery gift is one that gets used. That usually means something simple, that lives where the person spends their time, and that needs no charging, no app and no manual. Here is how we would choose from our own range, person by person, with the guides that show how to use each gift.
In 30 seconds
- For runners: the MuscleGlide massage stick, which fits in a kit bag and takes three minutes before a run.
- For padel players: the MuscleGlide for court-side warm-ups, plus an elbow or knee compression sleeve.
- For long days at a desk or on their feet: the ReflexRoll foot roller under the desk, or Comfort Every Day insoles.
- For unwinding at home or on the road: the foldable AcuNomad acupressure mat or the AcuEarth set.
- Not sure of their size? The wooden tools and the mats need no sizing. For insoles and sleeves, check the size first.
For the runner
The MuscleGlide is the gift runners actually take with them: 38.4 cm and 240 g, nine rings in solid Schima hardwood that turn on a steel axle, between two turned wooden handles. In studies, rolling before exercise gave small gains in sprint performance and flexibility, and rolling afterwards reduced how sore people felt [1]; massage in general is among the better-supported ways to feel less sore and less tired after exercise [2]. Our massage-stick routine for runners shows how to use it in three minutes before a run and six after.
For the runner who already has a roller, Sports Performance insoles are a practical upgrade for running shoes, with a high-rebound EVA core and a 2 mm anatomic TPU shell. A Knee Support Sleeve, a seamless knit compression sleeve for running and the gym, is another option. Both need the right size; see the sizing tips below. For everything we make for runners, see our running page.

For the padel player
Padel players spend a lot of time waiting on court benches, which makes the MuscleGlide a natural fit for a short warm-up before the first game. Our padel warm-up with a massage stick takes eight minutes.
Many padel players also like a compression sleeve. The Elbow Support Sleeve is a seamless knit sleeve that fits the right or left arm, and the Ankle Support Sleeve is thin enough to wear inside court shoes; there is also a Wrist Support Sleeve. Read our guide to elbow supports for padel for what they do and what they do not. Our padel page brings the whole padel kit together, with sizes.
For long days at a desk or on their feet
The ReflexRoll lives under the desk or by the sofa: 50 rollers in two textures, two channels for one foot or both, and a rubber base that stays put. It pairs perfectly with our 5-minute desk-day reset.
For people who walk or stand for hours, Comfort Every Day insoles are our most cushioned, at 5.5 to 6 mm. For dress shoes and loafers, where a thick insole will not fit, choose Slim Fit at 3 to 3.5 mm.

For unwinding at home or on the road
The AcuNomad is a foldable acupressure mat with 5,400 ABS spikes in a swirl pattern; it opens to 73 × 46 cm and folds into three zip-on sections that also unzip for use one at a time, so it travels. The AcuEarth set is the home version: a 75 × 44 cm mat, a 40 × 30 cm pillow and a tote bag, with linen and cotton covers.
The first minutes on a mat feel intense; most people start over a thin T-shirt for a few minutes. The research on acupressure mats is limited, and we explain it honestly in our guide to what the research says. Do not use a mat on broken or irritated skin, and check with a healthcare professional first if you are pregnant or have a circulatory or skin condition. New to mats? Our guide to your first sessions on an acupressure mat explains how long and how to start.

Getting the size right
For insoles, check the size chart on the product page against the person’s usual shoe size, and see our guide to choosing insoles. Compression sleeves are sized by measuring around the limb, which is hard to do in secret; our measuring guide shows where to measure. If you cannot find out, choose a gift that needs no size.
Where to buy
Our products are sold on Amazon in 9 European countries. Each product page has a Buy on Amazon button for your country; delivery times and returns follow Amazon’s terms in that country. For gifts, order early in December.
Frequently asked questions
Do any of these gifts need batteries or charging?
No. Every gift in this guide works without batteries, cables or an app.
What if the size is wrong?
Returns follow Amazon’s policy in your country. If you are unsure of the size, a wooden tool or a mat is the safer choice.
Is the MuscleGlide a good gift for someone who already has a foam roller?
Yes. It does a different job: it is quicker to use, works while sitting on a bench and travels in a kit bag.
Which gift suits someone who sits all day?
The ReflexRoll under the desk, used with our 5-minute desk-day reset, is the easiest habit to keep.
Which gift suits someone I do not know very well?
A wooden tool or a mat: the MuscleGlide, the ReflexRoll, the AcuNomad or the AcuEarth set. None of them needs a size, and our comparison page shows the differences.
